Introduction

Books are an important source of information and knowledge. They play an important role in the development of human behavior and mind. The Book Club brings together students sharing a common passion for books and knowledge.

How does the Book Club works

Members of the book club meet bimonthly to select a book to read, from the available options, based on consensus. Considering the diversity of taste, the Book Club is not confined to English Literature; the book can be from any genre Political Science, History, Memoirs, Positive Science, Philosophy, or any branch of social science. During the next meeting the members discuss their views about the book analytically, in a very beautifully orchestrated ambience.

How can I become a member?

The procedure is easy. Simply send us your information, including your name, roll number, year of study, and a passage describing why you want to join the Book Club – that’s important. Once your application is approved you will have to pay submit a nominal fee. Why pay any fee for a book club? We only will be charging this so-called fee (Rs. 100 per month) for our members’ refreshment during our formal (but intellectual) meetings. After you get registered, and pay a minimal fee, you will be issued an ID card.

What should I accept?

Unlike, the other societies on campus; we here at the Book Club have a mission, which is to ‘bring people together to share and add to another's knowledge’. If you are a member of the Book Club; you are not just random person who chooses to be part of a nonfunctional society,instead you are continuously adding value to your information. The campus is filled up with exorbitant societies, which are not only non-operating. But, also are not serving their purpose. We at the Book Club are not only clear about out mission but also are committed to provide our members with the prime quality experience. Books not only incite people to think, but also goad them to be idealists and make changes in the society. Be a part of the Book Club, do not wait for the change, be the change.

The Book Review Corner

This section is perhaps, intellectually, most stimulating for book-lovers. Book reviews are supposed to introduce our readers to new and exotic works, and give candid and fresh perspectives to old ideas, if not new. It shall consist of two parts: first, where you can submit your own book reviews; and, the other part would consist of my own reviews on the books that we’ll be discussing in formal club meetings.

Some words on member’s review corner. This corner gives you the opportunity to publish your systematic and illuminating book reviews publicly. If, you think, your reviews are substantial enough, just send them to our e-mail and we will publish them on our website after reviewing. A I will also be posting not only the information about the options of books that we are going to read, but , the members can also access the website anytime and read a review about their favorite book which they are planning to read individually, or missed out one of the meetings. They have the option to access it virtually.
